BSR Manufacturing has introduced the “FeatherWhite Multi,” a virtually tear-proof white seamless background. This environmentally friendly backdrop eliminates the need for buying roll after roll of white seamless backdrop paper, and is made from recycled materials.

According to BSR, it will outlast 10 rolls of 36-yard seamless paper because of a polymer that repels dirt and can be wiped down with a damp sponge or towel. It is light-weight, flexible and stays rolled out. It comes in 9- and 4.5- foot widths and in a variety of lengths. If the product becomes wrinkled, it will straighten itself out in a couple of hours.

Control Company’s new Traceable Dual Display Light Meter is used to measure Lux and Foot Candles in three ranges. The unit has zero reference settings for four light sources: tungsten, fluorescent, daylight and mercury. The light meter has serial RS-232 output that allows it to be connected to a computer or data logger for monitoring and keeping results. The unit also recalls highest, lowest and average readings at the touch of a button. The Data Hold button “freezes” the display to capture readings. Precise photodiode and color-correction filter provide cosine- and color-corrected measurements, and a light meter displays percent differential from a reference point. UV light is also available. Accessories include adapters, data logger and data acquisition system accessory.

LumiQuest has introduced the Cinch Strap for a two-fold purpose. First, it enables the photographer to attach LumiQuest products without installing self-adhesive loop to their flash. In addition, it can be wrapped around LumiQuest products already affixed to the flash for a more secure attachment. This purpose is particularly useful when using the LumiQuest Big Bounce or larger SoftBoxes. The Cinch Strap is available at a suggested retail price of $7.95.
