June 2006

Introduction

The annual WPPI convention is truly a labor of love, and this year was certainly no exception. All 50 states were represented. And although Canada lead the way with almost 200 attendees, over 30 countries were represented.

There were 2500 prints and albums entered in competition and 130 different programs to choose from! New programs were added, including an expanded Business Institute, all-day Spanish-speaking programming and the Champagne Shootout.

WPPI has grown, thanks to the support and enthusiasm of the attendees, the 289 exhibitors and the sponsors. To paraphrase the Beatles, “We get by with a whole lot of help from our friends!”

Next year’s convention moves back to March and the familiar Monday–Wednesday schedule for the trade show, March 26–28. WPPI Plus will start on Wednesday evening, March 21, followed by the Business Institute, Print Competition, All About Schools, and the all-day Spanish-speaking programs during the weekend of March 24 and 25.

We want to thank everyone for all their help and hard work. As we say in the office, “It’s the most fun we don’t have the energy to do again for another year!”
